Our founder Captain Quickie has been in the area for 30 years, after building his company in Puerto Aventuras, then online www.captainquickie.com the business grew and the need arose for an office -or- a "Local" as it is in Spanish.
Then he searched for the best of the best adventure guides in the area to serve the elite couples, groups and individuals that holiday here in the Riviera Maya, Playa del Carmen, as Captain Quickie could not be on every adventure personally every time. The Local Quickie was then born.

Yes... ! Mexico is a huge and diverse country and sadly the US media is portraying the whole of Mexico as being unsafe! The violence in Mexico, because it is a sad and true reality, is located on the border towns (border with the USA). Now, when you eliminate these hot spots, focusing on Riviera Maya, the allinclusive resorts here are gated, guarded and have strong security presence.
We would not be a world wide travel destination if it were unsafe. It is like anywhere else in the world, practice some prudence and you will be safe. Now for the water safety, our beaches for the most part are situated behind a barrier reef. So, the waves are small (and I mean inches). We do not have a rough surf nor riptides for most of the coast, your hotel will have a flag system on the beach also.
As far as our company goes, we place your safety before all and our water activities are in protected areas. Preservation of the environment 2nd and having fun in a very close 3rd. If somebody's idea of fun puts safety or environment at threat, we would decline their business. We are not having fun if we are getting hurt, right?
Yes we pick up from most hotels, however, some areas do carry an extra transportation cost($15 USD for Puerto Morelos $20 USD extra per person at Cancun)

There are restroom facilities located within the office on your arrival in the morning, there are bathrooms at lunch and there are also bathrooms at Tulum Beach, on the catamaran and at the jungle zipline park.
Motion sickness is always possible, but minimal due to the size of our vessel. Be sure to let us know before-hand if you are prone to motion sickness. For most of our adventures, unless specified, we use the largest catamaran in the Caribbean. She is 82ft long and 40ft wide, with over 3000 square feet of space. This former racing catamaran sits very low in the water and so the rocking effect is minimal. We also have a secret natural remedy for seasickness that we will share with you on the day!
This is available for some tours. Please inquire at time of booking and we will do everything possible to make it happen.
